Lead the Future of Autonomous Systems

The Fullerton College Drone Technology Program is proud to partner with Loyola Marymount University Air Force ROTC through a cross-town agreement that allows students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Drone and Autonomous Systems at Fullerton College to participate in Air Force ROTC while completing their degree at Fullerton College.

This unique pathway gives students the opportunity to pursue advanced education in drones, robotics, and autonomous systems while developing the leadership skills and professional training required to become commissioned officers in the United States Air Force.

A Unique Opportunity

Students in the program will:

  • Earn a Bachelor of Science in Drone and Autonomous Systems
  • Participate in Air Force ROTC courses and leadership training at LMU
  • Develop leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
  • Explore careers in aviation, autonomy, intelligence, engineering, operations, and emerging technologies
  • Train alongside future military leaders while preparing for careers in the rapidly growing autonomous systems industry
  • Participate in field training exercises following their sophomore year as part of the ROTC pathway

This partnership combines cutting-edge technical education with leadership development and service opportunities, helping students prepare for careers at the intersection of aerospace, defense, and autonomous technology.

Through this partnership, students can gain hands-on experience with drone and autonomous technologies while preparing to lead in one of the world’s most advanced military organizations.

The Fullerton Drone Lab provides students with access to industry-relevant training in:

  • Drone operations and mission planning
  • Autonomous systems technologies
  • Remote sensing and mapping
  • Thermal imaging and LiDAR
  • Robotics and multi-platform autonomous systems
  • Public safety and industrial applications
  • Advanced air mobility and emerging aerospace technologies

Combined with Air Force ROTC leadership training, this creates a powerful pathway for students interested in serving their country while building expertise in the technologies shaping the future.

Cross-Town ROTC Participation

Under the cross-town agreement, students attend Fullerton College as their primary institution while traveling to Loyola Marymount University for Air Force ROTC coursework, leadership labs, and training activities.

Students remain fully integrated into the Fullerton College Drone Technology program while participating in ROTC leadership development and officer preparation activities.
